Join us for our next virtual Zoom Wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) Workshop! Our instructors Larry Sokyo Tiscornia and Kimika Soko Takechi will show you step by step how to make these unique, delectable and beautiful handmade treats over Zoom. The workshop will include hichigiri and kimishigure sweets. Hichigiri, literally "pull and cut," are traditional Kyoto wagashi served during hinamatsuri, the Doll Festival on March 3. It is made with nerikiri, kneaded sweet bean paste, and topped with either kinton threads or a log of azuki bean paste. Kimishigure has an outer covering of white bean paste mixed with egg yolk and forms cracks when steamed. Recipes for the workshop will be provided in advance to all registrants. The workshop will be recorded and made available for registrants following the live session. Sign up for this virtual workshop and give making your own wagashi a try!
