This FUN-filled clinic is designed to help you improve and take your game to the next level!!  Receive ‘hands-on’ feedback, coaching, and individual analysis from the instructor, as you play!   You will develop a better game sense as the focus will be on shot selection, proper court positioning, and implementation of a flexible strategic plan to elevate your game to its BEST.

This advanced session will focus on:

Clinic instructor Marcia Neishi has recommended that players who are interested in joining the advanced clinic have a basic understanding of the game as well as some experience playing in games. This level of play would be a 3.5 – 5.5 skill level per the USA Pickleball Association (USAPA) guidelines—included below.

3.5 Skill Level Rating
This player possesses all skills and experience of a 2.5 skill level player. In addition, their mastery of basic pickleball moves should conform to the following standards:

FOREHAND: Improved stroke development with moderate level of shot control.

BACKHAND: Learning stroke form and starting to develop consistency but will avoid if possible.

SERVE / RETURN: Consistently gets serve/return in play with limited ability to control depth.

DINK: Increased consistency, with limited ability to control height/depth. Sustains medium length rallies. Starting to understand variations of pace.

3RD SHOT: Developing the drop shot in a way to get to the net.

VOLLEY: Is able to volley medium paced shots thereby developing control.

STRATEGY: Moves quickly towards the non-volley zone (NVZ) when opportunity is there. Acknowledges difference between hard game and soft game and is starting to vary own game during recreation and tournament play. Can sustain short rallies. Is learning proper court positioning. Basic knowledge of stacking and understands situations where it can be effective.
