Through movements like Roll Down, Teaser, Bridge, Saw, Plank, and dozens more, you will be guided in a way that encourages mind-body connection, which beginners will find challenging and centering. There is a strong emphasis on breathwork in Mat Pilates, and each movement will be driven by intentional inhaling and exhaling, which ultimately helps calm the nervous system. Pilates offers a terrific way of building core strength which helps center the entire body. Modified instructions in class, so that those looking for an intense workout will be sweating, and those who are looking to treat chronic panic and attend to their bodies will get a healthy stretch. Wherever your energy level is, whatever you’re looking to get out of class, show up to the mat and your body will feel brand-new.

Pilates Teacher
Amber is trauma-informed Pilates teacher certified with Mighty Pilates and Breathe Education, and trained under the mentorship of Minoo Hamzavi, esteemed third generation Pilates practitioner in Berkeley. Originally from New York, Amber relocated to the Bay a few years ago to work as an Editor at VIZ Media, a Japanese manga and anime publisher in SF.
Amber is excited to encourage both beginner and advanced movers to listen to their bodies more, and to discover new ways into that juicy mind-body connection. Amber has been a martial artist for over two decades and enjoys teaching fun and dynamic movement. Amber hopes to meet you on the mat with her warm and kind energy.
