For this workshop, we will be learning Kurodabushi (黒田武士)! Kurodabushi is a sou odori (総踊り / group dance) from Fukuoka prefecture in Japan, based off the folk song of the same name. The lyrics differ greatly from the original folk song and we have interpreted the overall theme of the song to be about drinking, dancing, and having a fun time at a festival. This is emphasized with the chorus exclaiming, “drink, drink the sake!”
