Ikebana Beginners

Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month
6:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: the Center
1840 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94115
Instructor: Chizuko Nakamura

Lean the fundamentals of Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, in our beginners' class. Prevailing as a popular cultural artform through the ages, Ikebana holds its roots in tradition but has also evolved as a modern expressive artform.

Conventional Ikebana education in Japan follows the concept of learning through observation, and in this class, students will have the opportunity to watch arrangement demonstrations as well as assemble their own arrangements, with the guidance of our veteran instructor.

Member fee: $22/class
Non-member fee: $28/class
First-time materials fee: $15**

**For first time participants, the instructor fee is waived, but a $15 payment for materials is required.
