Cosplay—the exciting art of transforming yourself into characters from movies, books, video games, anime, and manga—is a vibrant and beloved part of Japantown culture. During festivals and special events, the streets come alive with incredible costumes, creativity, and fans celebrating the characters from the fandoms they love. If you've ever wanted to try cosplay but didn't know where to begin, this is your chance!

Join experienced instructor Jun Shao for a fun and engaging series of Cosplay 101 workshops on Friday evenings throughout October, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Each session focuses on a different beginner-friendly topic, including wig styling, makeup techniques, prop making, costume basics, and more. You'll gain hands-on knowledge, helpful tips, and the confidence to start creating your own amazing cosplay looks.

Whether you dream of attending conventions, participating in local events, or simply expressing your creativity, these workshops will help you take the first step. Best of all, you'll meet fellow fans and become part of a friendly, supportive, and welcoming cosplay community right in the heart of Japantown.
